"Vinesh Phogat's Appeal Decision at CAS Expected Today: Silver Medal Request and Disqualification Challenge"

 


In a significant development regarding Vinesh Phogat’s case, the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) will announce its decision on her appeal against disqualification from the Paris 2024 Olympics today. Phogat has also requested a joint silver medal after being found overweight following her semifinal victory.

 

The CAS has completed the hearings for the case, and the final


decision is expected to be announced before the conclusion of the Paris Olympics. The arbitration court will deliver its final verdict today at 6 PM Paris time (9:30 PM IST). Senior lawyer Harish Salve has agreed to represent Phogat and provide top-level legal support.
