 "Chaos Surrounding NEET-UG 2024: Alleged Irregularities, Investigations, and Controversies"


The Ministry of Education has directed the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) to conduct a thorough investigation into the alleged irregularities. The CBI took over the investigation of alleged irregularities in the NEET-UG examination on Sunday and has deployed its teams to several states for the enquiry. Meanwhile, the Economic Offenses Unit of Bihar Police has arrested five individuals in connection with the NEET paper leak case, bringing the total number of arrests in the state to 18. Additionally, the National Testing Agency (NTA) had disqualified 63 students in Bihar for adopting unfair means during the NEET exam.

 On Saturday, it barred 30 students from Godhra, Gujarat, from taking the exam. Another 17 candidates have now been excluded from the exam, bringing the total a 110. An NTA official stated, "Based on the received information, 17 candidates who were to take the exam from Bihar centres have been excluded. This brings the total number of candidates disqualified from this year's exam to 110.

 The Central Investigation Bureau (CBI) has registered a primary investigation into alleged irregularities in the NEET-UG 2024 exam on Sunday. In the meantime, many students interested in a career in the medical field today participated in the NEET-UG 2024 re-examination.

 Two of the top six exam toppers were given additional points due to scoring discrepancies, causing a stir nationwide. Amid controversies surrounding irregularities in the NEET exam, the National Testing Agency (NTA) re-conducted the NEET-UG for 1563 candidates affected by time loss. 

The NEET-UG re-examination lasted three hours for students, with the exam taking place from 2 p.m. to 5:20 p.m. NEET-UG 2024 results are expected to be announced on June 30, 2024. Earlier, on May 5, a medical entrance exam was conducted for lakhs of students. NEET-UG 2024 exam results were announced in June. Immediately after the results were announced, questions arose about the list of toppers and score distribution organized by the NTA exam
